WD40 WILL DESOLVE JUST ABOUT ANYTHING PETROLEUM BASED. I have also heard of people useing oven cleaner.

Don't use a hammer and chisel, steel wool or sand paper.  O0  :D :D ;D

M.E.K. or Denatured alcohol should easily do the trick. Just be careful as they are both fairly flammable and the MEK evaporates quickly.

USE NEVR-DULL FROM EAGLE ONE. IT WORKS PERFECT, I USED IT ON MINE TO DO THE SAME THING. YOU CAN DO ALL THE CHROME ON YOUR BIKE AND MAKE IT LOOK BRAND NEW. YOU CAN GET IT A ALMOST ANY AUTOMOTIVE STORE IN THE WAX/ POLISH SECTION. IT COMES IN A SILVER AND BLACK CAN. HOPE THIS HELPS O0

Just be glad it is rubber off sole of boot and not skin off a leg. Skin is easy to get off, just smells like a Buck Rogers.

i can personally say that oven cleaner works well. warm the bike just enough to get the pipes warm- not hot! spray a little on the burnt rubber area. make sure you get none on the paint!!! i sprayed some on a rag and rubbed it on. let it set a few miutes and then wipe it off. worked great for me. good luck. BTW, i used easy-off brand. O0

Well I tried your suggestion but I kept falling over at red lights.  ;D ;D ;D

I picked up some Never Dull since I was going to wally world anyways.  Had looked at it before but thought it looked like it was too dry in the can to do much good, I was wrong about that for sure. Worked great and shines like nobody's business, and a little bit goes a long way.

Thanks to all who responded!! O0
