Do you have a faovrite mapping site or program
« on: March 12, 2007, 07:35:57 PM »

Do you have a favorite mapping site or program you use when mapping out a ride? I use yahoo when i travel by car but it does not do well with backroads, it always chooses the main drag. I am looking for something that will either give me choices or let me override its choice.

Thanks

MapQuest lets you choose.

In the upper right corner it offers.....Shortest route or No Hwys..

Sometimes with Mapquest I have to pick a small town on the route I want to go for it to show the route I want. This location will let you pick up to 10 locations along the way:

Here you go:

Read the directions, then mess around with it a bit. Kinda fun, and you can email the finished product out as a URL to your friends.   O0

I use google maps a lot.  You can blow it up to get some pretty small town roads.  I carry a HD M/C map in my saddle bags that show everything.

Just to let you know....I had a real smart Cranberries remark, but......I'm showing restraint. ;)

You'll have to show it to TomVTX, he's been known to need assistance.  ;D
