I am ready to replace my rear tire and have seen that some of you have replaced it with a car tire. I would like to know what brand and size would best fit a 2003 VTX1800R.
I know I should use a Z rated tire but don't know what brand has best served current riders.

Daniel Meyer has a website that has a lot of info on that too, but I can't recall the address. I think it had "darkside" in it. If you google him up, any of his book reviews should reference it.

I have a 2005 1800R with a Goodyear Assurance TripleTred 205/60.16 Got 5000 miles on it and works fine. I still have the stock shocks, But it is a tight fit. I ride 2 up and pull a trailer with no trouble. paid $108 and Discount tire. It is not a "Z" rated tire but I dont go faster than 100 MPH
Hope it helps

Headed to the darkside soon... any comments on this tire?
http://www.bridgestonetire.com/tireselector/GlamourIndex_BS_EN.aspx?productID=1111
It is a Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R with UNI-T sized at 205/55/R16
It is supposed to be more round than a regular car tire...
Also any foreseeable problems that anyone knows of? I have a 2003 1800C all stock in the rear...
