Sand Storm
« on: February 24, 2007, 03:09:30 PM »

We are in one hell of a storm right now.  The skies are yellow with sand in Allen.  The winds are chugging along at 35mph right now with gusts over 50mph.  Man do I miss those SE Texas Pine Trees to help knock some of this wind down.   :-\

Hell, I was down around Lexington, helping a friend clear some land today, and just got home. That was the nastiest wind I have ever ridden in...  >:(

I was worried for the few bikers I did see out there today.  We drove the cage up 377 to Denton today and some other back roads back home, metals signs and other chit was flying across the road.  I kept thinking of what would happen if I was riding and a 4'x4' metal sign flew at me at 40mph  :o  Sliced toast.

I rode for a few hours here today after the storms went through, Sand all the way here in the piney woods too Brad. Sustained 25-35 mph winds with gusts up to 53 mph. Worse than a year and a half ago when the hurricane after Katrina came through here! Wore me out riding, might near!

Everybody watch for that sand to be on the road today and be carefull. That fine silt left over from the ice and snow was what cuased me to drop my bike in a very slow turn.
