Need carb help
« on: May 11, 2006, 08:11:45 AM »

I know this has probably been answered a thousand times but I can't find the answer. I am installing a Kury Pro Hypercharger and K2's on my 1300C. I am ready to rejet but I'm having a hard time getting to the top of the carb. Do I have to completely remove the fuel tank or can the carb be pulled out w/out causing any damage? This and any other useful info. would be greatly appreciated!

you can just lift the back of the tank and not take it off, but you may fine it easier to just remove the tank.

That or remove the bottom part of the bike.  Peps has a stand that will suspend the top part in the air like magic. :D

It is best just to pull the Tank.  It is real easy to pull it.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. I'm going to try and pull the tank. I manage a bodyshop so if I scratch it I can fix it. Thanks again!

if you have never pulled the tank before, here are a couple of things to keep in mind
turn off the fuel (trust me on this  ;))
dont forget to undo the small vent hose at the back, rt side
and make a mental note of how many miles you had on that tank, it will reset to zero when you unplug it.

Don't forget to stap the forks to the foot pegs so that your handlebars don't come around and slap the tank while you are pulling it off.
