BBT IV Function
« on: January 30, 2007, 11:23:45 AM »

I'm putting this on the Gen. Disc. Board, in hopes that more people will see it.

We've had a "Poker Run" at the BBT the last couple of years. Due to the legal changes, concerning "Poker Runs", it's requires people to be posted at the various stops to throw the dice in order to make the game legal. That takes away the fun of riding for those people working.

I was thinking about a run, that everyone can participate in.

Has anyone ever been in a Road Rally?

A Road Rally, is a mapped, & timed event. You all have the same information, and leave in staggered times. You follow the directions and maintain the proper speed limits, to arrive at the same destination in a specfied length of time. The one closest to the correct time wins.

Here is an article that explains it for SCCA. I was a member when I was a kid, and did several. It's alot of fun.  http://www.na-motorsports.com/Rally/Road/

Just a thought. Gimme some feedback.

I would suggest a bug run, but my last bug run with two targets came to a tie as I hit rain very close to home and it washed both targets clean. Just a thought, we could have a deer dodging armidillo rescue ride and collect armidillos to be released on the camp ground. Probably too dangerous and some how agenst the law. Them little critters are gonna wind up tits up before morning any way. Besides I don't know how to haul them on a bike. I could see some one with a small stock trailer and a huge butter fly net doing very well at this.

sure is a shame just because they call it a poker run it's not legal, every night there are hundreds of floating poker games going on with lots of money changing hands, couldn't we just call it an armadillo run and come up with some type of point system?i'm sure someone has ridden in something like this? some suggestions :-\

We had a run last year, and used dice. Scored it the same as cards. But, we had to have 8 people "man" the check-points. Needless to say, those 8 didn't get to join in the fun. I was trying to come up with something that most everyone could do.

We had a fun run where people played a simple game at each stop and received a nuber of raffle tickets at each game depending on points scored. Think ring toss, darts, etc... the more points, the better chance at winning a prize at the drawing at the end. Plus, if somebody didn't do well, they could kick in an extra buck for an extra try. Everybody seemed to love it, and competition between people really made it enjoyable.
