I resemble that remark!
Actually with the new job, I don't get vacation until August.

Heres what I have so far. Just polished it. I don't know about mass producing it though.

Yikes! What do these things look like. Here is PA we have an inspection sticker that by default gets stuck on the left front fork, YUK!

I was going to buy the mounting plate from HDL that RD mentioned earlier in this thread but then found one from (dare I say it???) a Harley Dealer for about $8.  I mounted using the bolt for the left front foot peg.  So far it has survived 1 state inspection, that is after the inspection the Inspector himself stuck it on the mounting plate no questions asked and 1 police stop and inspection. The policeman was just itching to give out tickets because me and a buddy were riding down a two lane road in tandem in the dark because his headlight suddenly when out (yes both hi and lo beam) due to a shorted out starter switch.  Anyway he checked everything, inspection sticker, driver license, registration, insurance and let us go without a ticket so I assume it was OK.

I was kinda hoping that I could just stick my shinny new Texas inspection sticker on it when I get there.

That looks really good. Hal had them listed for $14.95 That was for polished stainless. I paid $20. to have mine chromed.

Now that I've been officially declared a 'Rider', I'll give you the skinny on the mount. RD, the one you got from HDL was made by German Pete, distributed by HDL. No longer made. What a shame. I'm working out of my garage with 'primitive' tools. I'm looking into less expensive stainless to make it worth my while and yours too. If I were to sell these as is, I'de have to get $20 just to break even on the steel. In my opinion, its not worth that much because its just polished stainless not even chrome. All that plus I've got a wife, 4 kids, a motorcycle and work shift work. I think they call that 'a life'. Let me do some thinking and some checking.

Well I've done an exhaustive search for a shock mounted inspection sticker mount like that, and let me tell you, they don't make them anymore!!! I've looked at hundreds and hundreds of websites. I just wanted one because my current inspection sticker plate sticks up from my license plate and obscures my brake light, plus it looks like SH_T!!!!

If you make it to bike night tomorrow I will show you what I bought. I installed it on the right shock and it is under the saddlebag and visible for anyone to see but is really not the noticable.

Claw- that bracket is really sweeeeeeet.  Great job.  Let me know if or when you start making them.  You could probably sell one to most of the retro riders in Tx. :)
