what would it cost to chrome a car
« on: December 30, 2006, 07:02:21 PM »

I'm serious. I'm talking all the prep and the chromer's cost. It wouldn't have to be a super great job. I'm just sort of running a bet with some friends.

yeah, like those. Do you think anybody would dip all the separate panels (doors, hood, trunk, etc...) for less than $5k?

I remember seeing and reading arcile (sp?) about this car somewhere in the Site.. it was owned by arabian's.. He owns Oil business in arab. anyways.. this car exterior panel is not chromed. it's silver.. Yes silver!.. :o

anyways I read it stated that it cost them almost buying 2 Merc's to form the car's exterior.  they had bulk of silver bullion. it was sent to foundary to Melt to form sheetmetal. & sent to Merc's factory to be cut, stamped, welded and assembled. if I can ever find a arcile (sp?) about this car.. I'll post.... O0

oh how much to chrome a car?.. I'm not sure... I would guess..Prolly. 5k. or more.... u might want to contact Handler on VTXOA.. He'll give u quote....  ;)

I chromed a 305 Honda Superhawk frame when I was 16  :o :o (long story). Does anyone know a local DFW shop that's reasonable on chroming wheels? Everything I've seen mentioned was about sending them away somewhere out of town or state.
