Awesome news Wolf...  O0 O0  If my bike was in one piece by this coming weekend I'd go for a spin with ya.  But I don't think I'll have it complete for another 2 weeks!!!   :'( :'( :'(

No ribbin ever about good customer service. It's a shame more companies aren't like that.

Update on the clutch issue.

I was pissed because my warrantee was out last month and, a new clutch basket costs $1,000.00 then you add labor and you get a pretty big bill to get the bike out of hock.

I called Big Dog customer service before I brought the bike in and they told me to bring it to Stroker's and have them diagnose the problem with the big dog techs and they would determine if they would cover it.

Well,  Stroker's popped off the primary cover and saw that the clutch hub was cracked.  It was a known issue with early production 2005 big dogs.

Because of this Big Dog is sending out a brand new clutch basket; free of charge to me.  They didn't have to but, they know it was a known issue and, they're doing the right thing.

Hopefully, I'll have the bike back this weekend.

Ok, now I'll wait for all the ribbing. ;D

Joe I can only speak for myself and as it stands, I give you a ribbin because I'm kinda jealous. I do love your bike and would like to have one but just outa my financial reach so the only thing I can say is, when your up on top of the mountain, your goina get shot at  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hey do any of you X'ers have a motorcycle trailer that you might consider loaning (hint..hint..) or renting to me for the 1st week of March for our trip to Bike Week in Daytona??  Current plan is to haul my "X" in the bed of my F-250, but a trailer would be nice...  8) 8)

Hey, Dan!

Big Dog didn't get the part out as they were supposed to.  They were supposed to overnight a new clutch basket on Thursday evening but, it didn't arrive Friday morning so, I'm expecting it today.

The primary is open and on the floor over at Stroker's right now.  LOL

I should be getting it back today though.

If it's ready today, I'll get Lynn to drop me off over there after work today!

Apparently, the new clutch is more heavy duty than the last one.  The housing is thicker too.

Hopefully, this will be the only major thing for a while.  I think this was the only service bulletin item to be addressed on this bike so, I should be ok for a while.  LOL

I may start to tinker with the motor a bit now that the warrantee is out.

This motor is VERY strong but, there were some EPA additions that need to be removed for it to really make the power it's supposed to make.

In this year model, they put restrictor plates into the intake manafold, smaller valves and they nerfed the cam.  With some work and a service manual, it's going to run like a friggin bat out of  hell.  I can get a cam for about 100.00.  Chrome high output carb trade out for a couple hundred and remove the restrictor plates in the manifold and up the hp to probably 120 or so from what others dyno runs suggest.  Now that I'm out of warrantee, might as well play around with it.  LOL  When I need to get into the heads, add the larger valves and flow the heads.

There's also a guy in Nashville that I have the number of, that sets up drag bikes that has done a lot of work on this motor set up that is getting really good runs with some ignition mods that he can do to the stock ignition.

With those mods, there are guys getting some really sick dyno runs without making it too much work to keep it running.

After that you get into shaving the heads to up the compression etc.  I don't think I want to go that far.  LOL

Can't wait to get it back.... hopefully today!

With any luck, we'll have some good riding weather this weekend.

Well when you get all that done and make bunches and bunches of Horsepower, I guess you'll have the feelin of not wanting to ride behind all the X'ers. Well, kinda being a country boy we have a saying, "there's a pecking order in the barnyard". To apply that saying to this situation, "X 'ers still rule the roost" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Seriously, I do hope you get your bike out today and I'm looking forward to twisting a top before long with ya O0 O0

Wow,Joe,that sounds like a lot of heat you're gonna generate. Maybe you'll have to get a HONDA radiator so you can ride it sometime when it's not cold and rainy. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
