Bright Metals of the Heights-Chrome Review
« on: November 02, 2006, 09:59:07 AM »

I had a couple of parts to get chromed so I thought I would try them out.
I had a beat up rear brake cover, 2 grab rails, 2 custom flat inserts, and a front axle nut, and spacer.

The place looks pretty ratty, but Gus the owner is very nice and easy to talk to.
I brought the parts in on a Monday. and he told me to expect a 1 week turnaround, so I was pleasantly surprised when he called on Friday and told me they were ready.

All the parts turned out beautifully, a deep rich chrome with no waviness.

I was really interested in the flat aluminum inserts ( to replace the reflectors) as I know you can t dip them the way they were.
They welded on a piece of solder on the back and they turned out great. Other places I called told me I would have to weld a nut on the back of them as they would not do it otherwise, and when i told them i wasnt a welder they said they couldnt help.

Best part is he offers a dscount if you pay cash.

I will load some pics tonight

Bright Metals of the Heights
626 e 11 street, Houston, TX

He does a ton of motorcycle parts, and no job too small.
He showed me some satin finish nickel and brass and copper plating he did on some parts too.
Nice job on small nuts/bolts, washers too.
Some real unique looks, for the same $ as chrome.

i think they are competitive? but the only other chromer i have used was in florida.
you can always call him for a quote beforehand.

Do they do any light fabrication, such as heatshields or stuff?

Thanks.
