Eastside Honda of Baytown comes through.................
« on: October 26, 2006, 03:52:26 PM »

If you're ever on the east side please show your gratitude to Eastside Honda of
Baytown for their support to our LSR meet and greet. I just picked up over $500.00 in products/services. They also would like to sponsor Texas X Riders on a one day event out at their facility. They have a huge pavillion behind the dealership. This is in the planning stages but look for later post with details. Also post an interest level if this sounds like something we maybe interested in.

Sounds like it would be FUN.......

HOH had one for their customers a couple fo years ago. The WOW (Women on Wheels) cooked and gave away Hot Dogs. We had a great time.

Good job, Lizard.  When you told me last weekend that they were g6ing to give something, that is certainly more than I had imagined.  As far as an activity there, I am in.  They are really nice folks there.

"Uncle Dave" is going to try to make the LSR Meet & Greet. He seemed excited to hear about the website and plans to become a member. If he's there please make sure to meet and thank him for his contribution. I have never orginized a gathering so if there is some ideas on things you'll would like please give some input (other than the obvious-ride, food, etc).

Sounds like a possible candidate for a state wide meet.

The statewide thing is what I was hoping for. If not state wide, something really big. The facility is too big to have just a local meet-greet-eat type get together. Almost like a second rally. I'm really going to plan this thing and hopefully have a big turn out. I'd also like to incorporate some form of benefit to help some needy people/group.

I think I would go been there twice and great sales staff and nice facility. MAWMAW had her bike fixed there after her accident. They also have a Dyno. That's why I need to get back.

Sounds good to me and it's not halfway across the State. WOO HOO!

I'm interested in a dyno too. Maybe they will give a group rate if we get enough dynos lined up.

Does the dealer have a a charity they would like for us to donate to?

Lizard, as you may know, Uncle Dave is involved with Ride in the Light (rideinthelight.com) which is a biker ministry.  That may be our choice of a "charity" as he puts quite a bit of time/effort into this.  He holds services for them twice a month at Eastside Honda.  Just a thought!

If you're looking for a good charity, "Riders On The Way" is a Christian biker group out of Montgomery, who are presently raising funds for injured U.S. troops. Below is a brief excerpt from their website:

Lone Star Cowboy Church and Riders on the Way decided they did want to do something to show these U.S. troops that we care. Born as an idea that, while we are a small motorcycle ministry, surely there was something we could do to positively impact these men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom and liberties. On May 30, 2006, we began a local campaign within our church walls. We began selling Disciples' Crosses as a way to raise funds to support these wounded troops. But God let us know quickly that He had bigger plans than we could even imagine. The "Texas Honor Ride" blossomed from the original "seed" and now we have support and assistance from many organizations that have the same heart for this mission as we do.

On Nov. 11, 2006 the Texas Honor Ride will be a police escorted ride from Houston to San Antonio to the Brooke Army Medical Center for the presentation of the donations received to that date.
