I join the ranks of the un-employed on November 30th, after 18 years with a major energy company. Hope everyone is enjoying the low cost of gas out there.

 

Going to try and take a month or two off and try and figure out a new direction, I know others have not been as fortunate (Jim and Marigold are in our thoughts and prayers) as we have but I will try and stay around as long as I can.

Sorry to hear, looks like some companies are using the current price of oil to clear out some salary cap.  Best wishes getting back into the employment game.

Having been laid off more than once myself, I can appreciate what a body blow it must be for you, but a smart, talented, productive and energetic guy like you should have the edge in landing a new job. Since you had already been planning to move out of Houston upon retirement, would you be willing to expand your search beyond Houston? How flexible is Phyllis' job situation?

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts, It is still sinking in, as Mike mentioned we are planning on moving and it will probably happen soon there after, it looks like Phyllis's job is now also questionable after the new year.
