still here.  Just busy with other stuff.  I don't have a mold for that one.  That's what slows me down on making them.

Ever think about adding a strap to go over the end of the pistol?  You know, for riding...make sure it doesn't accidentally become roadkill.

Yes. but I ride with these type holsters and don't ever worry about it falling out.  the retention is very tight and if it does fall out you have way bigger........you'll be the road kill, not the pistol.  :ohwow:

Level 1 : no thumb retention strap
Level 2 : With thumb retention strap
Level 3 : with thumb retention strap and some sort of trigger guard release mechanism...not really seen on leather holsters. Mostly kydex or similar material.

Ever think about adding a strap to go over the end of the pistol?  You know, for riding...make sure it doesn't accidentally become roadkill.

A pancake holster has several advantages; the design enhances retention and the flanges hold the weapon (and before any NRA pistol instructors try to bust my chops, I call it a weapon.  That's one of the many reasons I backed away from NRA instructor certification) close to the body for excellent concealment.  The holster MUST be worn on a solid belt to work right though.  You need a stiff belt and the holster's belt slots must be cut to fit the belt.  The rig I have been wearing every day for years uses a 1.75" belt.  The belt is a strip of kydex sandwiched between two strips of the very best leather on the market.  It ain't cheap, but I'll never have to replace it because it started sagging on me and wouldn't support the holster.  And I carry a full-size 1911 which weighs more than what most folks carry.  As a reformed (well...... somewhat, anyway) gear geek I can tell you, the belt is as important as the holster.  It's the foundation of the rig.

By the way, nice work, Paul.

I agree wholeheartedly with Jim. A great belt is definitely needed.
