So here is my tool kit.....
« on: October 15, 2013, 07:09:05 AM »

Instead of buying a bunch of stuff...I decided to raid my various tool kits that I already have and put together a roadside emergency kit.  Here is what I have:

Allen wrenches, two new sets all different sizes plus the two that it takes to take the seat off
Screwdriver, I have the one that you can attach different tips and I have 2 sets of tips
Needle nose pliers
Channel Lock Pliers
Metric Box and Closed end wrenches from 8mm to 17mm
Small crescent wrench
Wire Cutters
Razor knife
Regular Knife (Army supply type)
Zip Ties
Electrical tape
gloves
Poncho (2)
Small Orange Cone (ha ha ha...no really)
jumper cables
Bungee cords
Flashlight

Still to come,

Tire Patch Kit (the plug kind) - On Order
CO2 Air - I have the nozzle just need the large CO2 cartridges.

Anything else I need to add to my roadside kit?

looks good.  CO2 is good but when you're out, you're out.  I chose to use a mini compressor.  Only limited to battery power which would be more available than co2 cartridges.

I would also throw in a lighter, extra fuses and a spare headlamp bulb. Just my $.02

Forgot, I have fuses too.  I will eventually acquire a headlamp bulb but I have 3 on the front so if one goes out it's not a total loss.  I can't find a decoder ring.....

Matap is correct about dump the CO2 can idea. WalMart has a small compressor (Slime) that works great. It comes with 2 power connectors, one with clips for clamping to a battery and the other is a cigarette lighter plugin. Cut the lighter plug off it's wire and hard wire that lead to the Battery and the leads from that hide under your side cover for quick access.
The spare H/L blub is a must, if you've ever had one go out at night while riding, then you'd know how dark the road swiftly becomes. Ask Hobo!
Sounds like your pretty stocked on tools. Better safe stuck on the side of the road.

They make really big CO2 cartridges and I will get a bunch of them.  They take up less space and they don't stop working because they have been stored too long.  I just threw away a 12v tire inflator because it blew the fuse on my 12v adapter.  As long as I can inflate it enough to ride I should be good.  Might try another inflator...need to take extra fuses for the 12v adapter.  As far as wiring directly to the battery, I have enough crap already there, don't want to add any more wires.

Magnolia 2 weekends ago, nowhere last weekend, possibly Anderson/Richardson this weekend.  I have had this bike about a month and put only 300 miles on it.  I feel really bad about that.
