All I can say is that I am glad to be done with the task of running this. I would also like to add... it sure is funny how everybody has all of these good intentions and good ideas now. We have had pitiful turnouts and dwendling participation for years.I don't recall very many of you who are voicing their opinons now volunteering to help before. Therefore I feel that your input is as worthless as tits on a boar hog! With that final note good luck and get your ideas rolling in, but don't forget it also will take money to keep this thing together.

Thanks for your vote of confidence, it is greatly appreciated  :good:

I really like this forum. Haven't had a chance to meet anyone yet, but Hooter. I will keep watching this board and will help out when & if I can. I am handing out cards to all X-Riders I meet, trying to get more people interested in this forum. Hope to go to the BBT this year and meet some more of the guys & gals that I see on here on a daily basis.

Have I missed the announcement of who the new board is.  It sounds like they have been chosen.  Who are they?

I am curious why a forum has a BOD.

In the simplest form, just to help with making decisions and arranging events for the benefit/fun/comraderie of the group.

In the simplest form, just to help with making decisions and arranging events for the benefit/fun/comraderie of the group.

We just had a couple of members who set all that up before.  I was one of them, spent our money and asked for help.  Usually it was pretty decent, just had to make sure to plan for less participation that what you see online.  Some people think nothing of volunteering and then no-showing.  You just have to know your people I guess.  Our first BIG event yielded a lot of leftover hot dogs.  After a while we had it down to a science.

That being said, glad to have a BOD to take on that responsibility.

Originally, the plan was to make the group a 501 (C) (3) organization (tax exempt), which required a president and a BOD. The person holding the money for our first BBT incurred tax liabilities; hence, the decision.

Maybe it would help me to know what a BBT was.  As far as Taxes, it seems that this would be as liable for taxes as me getting money from my friends to make a beer run.  Again, until I understand what a BBT is I probably shouldn't comment .

Time to go use the search function.

My guess would be that without a tax id number they had to pay taxes on all the food and other items needed for the Rally.  However, that is speculation on my part as I was not there. :idontknow:
