Inspection Sticker and License Plate
« on: September 11, 2006, 04:22:49 PM »

Hello fellow Texans!

Here's my "vanity" issue.  I hate the way the stock license plate holder is ugly and bulky.  The plate and inspection sticker must be attached to the back of the bike (I checked w/ DPS to be sure).  So the question is: what options are there to make it look better and not block the taillight or anything like it currently does?  There's gotta be a way to make them both fit nicely. O0  Have a great day!

not sure on this, but i think they just have to be "viewable" from the back of the bike.  otherwise i think everyone with the side mount plates would be getting tickets like crazy.....

License plate mounted on one side and inspection sticker mounted on the other with a bracket fabricated by the guy on this board who goes by the name of "Claw".  Get him to make you one.  They are very well made and he has nothing to do anyway  ;D

Liz,

I cut a small flag-like piece of plexy-glass and mounted it on the side of my license plate frame mount.
Fits great and doesn't block a thing.   I have a retro so the fender flares out at the bottom.  I couldn't
use the stock sticker plate that drops down...   you may be able to see it on the back of my picture
below.
