WTB late 70's or early to mid 80's Chevy truck
« on: September 21, 2012, 09:45:23 PM »

Looking for a project truck for my son's first vehicle.

I'd like to find an older 2WD Chevy truck.  They had essentially the same body style from 73 to 87, so I'm looking for something within those years.  I would prefer it to be in decent shape, straight body, no through-rust.  Drive train, interior, cosmetic work is expected.

Anyone have an old square body Chevy truck sitting around collecting dust?

Thanks Chad.
Short or long...fleet side or step side...305 or 350...none are a deal breaker.

Needs to be auto trans.

One other question.... price range?
There are quite a few around this area that are fixed up some
and a fixer upper.

Somewhere between restored and basket case.
$5K limit.

It will be his first vehicle.  Don't want to spend a fortune.  Looking for a mild to moderate fixer-'er-upper project.

I can handle just about anything mechanical, but I can't do body work/paint.

Ha ha.
I've seen everyone of them on Houston CL.
The last one you posted already sold.
The one is Crosby...well...I called the guy and the deal seems shady to me after I asked a few questions.

I will look into the others you posted.
Thank you.

Looking for 4x2, but thanks for replying.
Not against a full sized Blazer, but not 4x4.

Awesome.  Thanks Chad.
I will call on the first 2.

The 454 SS is a no-go.  Although my son would probably be tickled with the big block.

I will probably call on the last one too, but $5K seems a bit high.
