We just got back from the Tail at this years Hoot and you wouldn't believe all the idots in Trucks trying to make that road.  Bad thing is the cops hang out to catch the bikes crossing the double center but I guess an 18 wheel big rig is exempt from the law.   >:(

The Dragon itself really isn't that dangerous.  On our bikes you really aren't going to be able to get up to an unsafe speed.  Keeping your eyes ahead of you and staying in your lane are the keys to success.  The Cherohala Parkway is the ride to and from the Dragon.  It is much more dangerous because of the long sweeping curves and steep grades into and out of those curves.  Very deceiving and very dangerous.  But, one of the most beautiful rides I have ever seen, too.   :)

I've always wanted to ride the Dragon UNTIL I saw those pictures.  I already found out what a missed curve can do. >:(

Sounds awesome, Xer, but intimidating, for me anyway.

Hi Pat........How are you healing?

I have never had a brave bone in my body. I never wanted to race, go real fast or do anything daring.... ::) I don't like watching anyone go fast either. It makes me nervous... I have nothing to prove to myself by going like a slow bat out of Hell on any of these twisty roads.

After my latest bout with a truck, I'm sure they don't look for a MC any more that a bug on the windshield.

It all boils down to the States or Feds, whoever has jurisdiction.  They need to restrict the size of trucks allowed on the Dragon.  It's rather obvious that those big rigs can't navigate that road.  They should simply make it illegal for trucks/trailers over a certain length to be on that road.

I agree but to be honest some times it takes some people to die before they step in. which is sad and very disterubing.

Here is the pic of Michele and me on the Dragon taken by killboy.com.
I just ordered it today and the 16"x24" should be here in a couple of weeks.
