Repair work this weekend
« on: August 07, 2011, 09:49:41 PM »

Many many thanks to Steve Johnson (Cyberhick) for spending his Sunday in my garage helping me (doing most of the work) replace the fork springs, seals and fluid. We (he) also tackled the valve check/valve adjustment, which included removal of the exhaust, floor boards, tank and highway bars etc.. We also determined that Bosch Platinum +4 plugs suck. (atleast in my 2002 1800R) Replaced with NGK Iridium....We shall see how these perform. Only 2 trips to the autoparts store..

It is a different bike with the new Progressive springs. No more bouncing through turns or front end dipping. With the valve adjustment and new plugs, the old power is back as well. Next will be to save some money and go visit Johnny Cheese for a new map or two...

NGK plugs are all I use.  Cheaper and perform just fine.

Well, Gumbo that is an easy mistake...I mean several of us have KN filters right?  So why not KNG plugs?  :stickpoke:
