Brake light
« on: August 03, 2011, 09:09:24 AM »

So I have been informed that my rear brake light on my 1300C is not lighting up unless I press REAL HARD on the brake lever.  Is this an easy adjustment?

It might just be the contacts inside the lever housing.  maybe dirty or the spring inside has lost some tension.

There is a plastic, knurled knob on the brake light switch.  It's hard to get at because it's behind the black metal shield for the master cylinder, but you can get your index finger on it and turn it.  I had the exact opposite many years ago...my light was on even when I wasn't pressing down on the pedal.

Glad you got it fixed.  It always seems that the most minor of problems can cause the most major of inconveniences.
