I just was told and saw a place that is located off of I-10 near Mason Rd that does chroming.  They are in some business center buildings that are on the feeder going inbound near the Discount Tire.

Remember Hook'em. Dewayne Fraizer.  He owns a chrome shop and does a great job. I think he's just south of Houston. I don't have his phone # but his work email is
 Hookem work

From what I have heard he is not reachable right now, or hasnt' been for awhile.  Cybrhick has been trying to get in touch with him for a long time to get a piece done for Wayne.  If he is back in business now please let me know.

I don't know. Hadn't talked to him in awhile, he was still operating about 6 to 8 months ago. Keep me in the loop if you hear something.

Here is his response.

Duane "Hook 'em" Frasier to me
show details 3:01 PM (45 minutes ago)

Sorry to say, but our business fell victim to the recent economy.  Judging by the phone number you sent, I'm assuming you are in Houston.  I would recommend Atlas Plating.  They are just off 45 & Crosstimbers.  Talk to Alex or Majid.  Tell em I sent you.  They do good work at fair prices.  Sorry again that I can't help you more.

Back in the 70's..........Master Plating (on Dallas street) were the best in Houston.  I used them a lot for chrome and 24K gold plating.  They are gone now and a government subsidized apartment building occupies that plot of land. Hurray for the government and all of those HARD working people in the 4th ward!  Happy to know we could help them out with a free home.  BTW.........34% of Houstons apartment housing IS government subsidized.

Enough of stating facts about the down fall of our society........ :ohwow:
Today...........I would send my stuff to Browns Plating in Kentucky.  I was real happy with their work.  FYI............I had some chromed and gold plated items coated/painted with a clear top coat called "Astrolight".  It's the same stuff they spray as a top clear coat on auto paint finishes.  To this day.......the chromea nd gold still looks brand new and you don't have to polish the chrome.  Just wax it like paint.  I did it first on the gold parts because 24 karat gold tarnishes/oxidizes so fast if left unprotected.  The clear coat stopped the tarnishing............so I tried it on chrome and it worked great as well.  If I was chroming parts these days, I would clear coat them and never had to polish again!

I had some stuff done at Airline Plating several years ago, and it's held up well.  I like dealing with local companies in case something isn't done right.

I know some of the X riders have used Atlas with good results, too.

The shop I just used to do a chrome exchange on wheels is www.cycleimage.com and they look great Cyberhick was here to help with them and Chad saw them as well. They are a ways away in San Diego so if nothing local turns up might give em a call. The pic is not a good close up but gives you an idea and the rotors were even chromed according to what Chad said and I think he is right.
