LeAnn and I had to leave early Sunday because I found out Friday night my dad is having by-pass surgery Tuesaday and I wanted to spend Monday with him. As luck would have it, I went to the hospital myself for a kidney stone at 10:00 AM this morning! As I type this, I'm still trying to pass a 5.5mm stone. GOD this hurts! I'm praying for the Vicotine to kick in harder until it passes. I'm so glad we left yesterday. I can't imagine having to deal with this on the bike and on the road. They should be around Del Rio at this time.
After a six hour surgery, he's now in the ICU and doing fine. He looks good and has a strong pulse. My entire family can breath again. He should wake up late tonight so I'll get to talk to him tomorrow. My sister is a nurse and the hospital will allow her to stay with him all night.Main thing is dad is past the hard part. I'd like to thank all of you that wished him well.As for my kidney stone(s), I'm not sure what happened to it. No pain at this time and I didn't notice passing it. (Sorry if that's too much info). This is about my 7th or 8th stone so I know the routine. Not sure if I still have it inside me..........time will tell. The CT scan showed three in my kidneys, so at some point in the future I'll have to deal with them.
He had surgery on Tuesday and he's walking around today with no pain medications at all since the surgery. Hard to believe.
