Being able to go where you wanted and not having to worry about anything but getting run over lol.
The entire family sitting down together to eat not many do that anymore.
Riding our bikes at 2am walking into the clubs on the Bossier strip never being asked for an ID we though we were hot AppleSauce.
Good ole A&W  root beer the good stuff.
The good times I had with my dad when he was around and not off with the military doing one thing or the other.

I miss...........
Howdy Dooty (reruns), Captain Don, Superman (the real one that commited suicide), Johnny Quest, Space Ghost, Speed Racer and Kiterick on TV.
The smell of a newborn baby in the house everytime time mom brought home a new brother or sister from the hospital.
Pixie Stick powdered candy sticks.  The Halloween “Candyman” child killer caused them to be put out of production.
Riding in grandpas cop car with the siren on.
Halloween and Christmas as a kid.
Wham-O air guns, Erector sets and Mister Machine toys.
Green pine cone wars on Saturday with the neighborhood kids.  No shirts or girls were allowed.
Setting a vacant lot on fire after attempting to put a toy rocket into orbit using gasoline as the propellent.  This was durring the 60's when the space race was going on with the Russians.
Sonic Booms from passing military jets headed to and from Ellington AFB.
5 cent single scoop ice cream cones at the Rexall drug store after mowing the grass.
Sitting up in grandpas peach trees eating peaches as big as soft balls until we were full.  The ensuing peach pit war were a blast.
Playing "Doctor" with the neighbor girl when her mom went shopping.
Steel wheel roller skates and skate boards.  We rode until our feet were numb.
Hoola Hops, Water Wiggels, Super Slids and Lawn Darts.
Hand made mouth whistles made from train cargo banding straps.  My lips were cut to shreads from those things.
Playing in the train yard off of 11th and T.C Jester and climbing all over the tank cars.
Jumping into White Oak bayou off of the train tressel.
Playing in the debris of Hurrican Carla.
Playing in flood waters and not having to worry if MY house was going to flood..........becasue I didn't own it.
Gathering frogs after a big rain and catching bees and fire flies in a jar.
Drinking rain water from the street when we were thirsty.
Watching the neighbor kids eat boogers.
Arm pit farts contests.
Fart contests in general.
The Pledge of Allegiance in school.
Day Trip outings durring elementry school.
Working on the 57 Chevy with dad as a kid.
My 6th grade and high school home room teachers I had crushs on.  (They were hot!)
Slot car racing, Cox model airplanes and Estes dry chemical rockets.
Model airplane glue and airplane wing dope.  My first high!
Camping in Memorial Park.
My first motorcycle and the years racing all of them.
Wearing my blue jean jacket to high school with the American flag on the back and not getting trouble for it.
Telling the gym coach "No Thanks" to his consistant offers to run track and play sports in high school................ if I only cut my hair.  NOT happening!
Hunting with my dad as a kid.
Just sitting in the woods watching criters when hunting by myself (after I figured out that killing something wasn't the funnest part of hunting).
Spending the night on the beach in my first car (Toyota) with my girlfriend.  Had to take the rear seat out to lay down in the trunk.
My brother when he went to war.
Camping/Scuba diving trips to Canyon Lake and lake Travis.
My 68 Camero 327 hot rod.  Dropping the clutch at a stop light and laying down about 30 bucks worth of rubber when someone doubted what you had under the hood.
Running from the cops on dirt bikes, street bikes and in my Camero.  Never tried it in the Toyota.
Drive Inns and Moon Pies.
Disco and Whip dancing in the 70's.
Working at "Full Service" gas stations and hitting on the women.
Playing for college level rugby team at 17 and traveling to neighborings states to play other college teams and the ensuing beer bashes afterwards.
Sneaking in the girlfriends college dorms and spending the night or hiding in the closet from thier room mates.
Five day long week end parties at my old rent house in the 80's.
The fact of being able to celebrate Christmas without pissing someone else off.
All of my previous puppy dogs that have passed.

I don’t miss..............
Leaded gasoline and the resultant air pollution of the 70’s.  Kids born in the age of unleaded gas don’t know what air pollution REALLY is.
The Viet Nam war and the draft.
The 110 lbs. McCloud clutch in my old 68 Camero hot rod.  My leg still hurts sometimes!
Getting 24 traffic tickets in one year because of that car and knowing a great traffic lawyer that got me out of all of them............except one.

Being able to get out of bed without creaking, popping and aching
Big Wheels
Speedy Gonzalez
Being able to speak your mind without upsetting someone's delicate sensibilities
Screwing up at school, getting my Cranberries paddled, and going back to class
Football where the players actually hit each other without being flagged

I'm a child of the '80s so I can't say music or fashion.  ;D

I miss concerts when tickets were $6 - $12 and the band only came into town and played on a Friday or Saturday night.  What the hell is up nowadays with $300 dollars for a concert and playing on a Wednesday night?
I miss the Stingray AppleCrate bicycles (they had the shifter on the frame).   There were also Lemon Peelers and Orange Crates and they were the coolest bikes to ride but were kinda pricey for my parents to afford.
I miss not being told what I can and can't do and all these laws to protect me from myself.  Natural Selection was in full effect in the 70's.
