I miss living in the country when you could let your kids stay out all day and not have to worry about who or what was trying to take and or molest them.

I miss my Dad who died July 4, 1999.

I miss being kicked out of the house in the morning and playing all day as a kid.
I miss playing doctor with the little girl next door.
I miss the 70's care free lifestyle, hitchhiking across the country, I would have liked to be a hippie for ever, but like everyone else had to conform.  ::)
I miss my money being worth something, when if you make 7 bucks an hour you were on top of the world.

I miss kids being outside all day, playing sandlot baseball, riding bikes to wherever we wanted to go. Just had to be home for dinner, and no big deal if we were late. Free to be a kid.

I miss watching Houston Wrestling on Saturday night and then watching again Sunday morning thinking that it would be different. (Rerun) Not really but my other ideas were taken.

I miss my childhood in the summertime. There was always a baseball game going on or a big "gang" of us riding our bicycles all over the countryside. The only time we would stop riding is to replace the cardboard attached on the frame of the bike. (The cardboard attached at a point to where it would flap in the spokes giving us that "Big Bike" sound.)

1+  :agree: on the customer service
I think our country's work ethic is fine, just no reason to work if it's given to you, if you won't.  :stickpoke:

Papaw...

They don't make 'em like him anymore.

Two world wars, a not-so-great depression, outlived two kids, never told a lie in his life, loved only one woman (married her at 15) for more than 65 years, and never once raised his voice at a grandkid (even when he picked this one up at county for D&D at age 13). I miss his laugh, the smell of his Roy-Tan and Brylcreem, and those leathery big hands that taught me to tie a fly, gap a plug, and hammer a nail.

Damgummit...those were incredibly good days.

I hope my kids' kids think of me like that one  day...
