Should we / do we have to turn the rotors when replacing brake pads?

You should check the thickness, I have checked several with 40 thou. plus miles and they were still well within
specs.

Dang, I never thought about this. I rolled over 70,000 miles yesterday, guess I better take a look at them.

If I remember correctly the minimum thickness is 6mm.

the way i see it if the rotors were never turned then the thickness will still be there. the brake pads alone will not wear down the rotors as much as turning them would.
