Well I did it. Last Tuesday the wife and I were on our way to eat at Lunas in Baytown. Everything going well.Got to the intersection at Main & Cedar Bayou-Lynchbrg & stopped at the light.I did not notice the puddle of oil on the ground.Light turned green & went to turn right & the front wheel slid out from under me.I'm fine, but Pat ended up with a bad broke leg. Surgery Friday & my wife now has a new steel plate & some screws. Ya know I always look for those things like bricks,18 wheeler tires, cross-ties, & big holes, and the list goes on, but I really didn't think or see this puddle of oil.Pat should be up and about in 3 to 6 months. So for all you guys & gals watch out for the small things because they can get you to.
Oh and does anybody have a stock left rear blinker for a '02 Retro I can buy???

First, welcome to the board.
Sorry to hear of your mishap but glad it wasn't more serious. And you're right... tons of stuff to look out for.
Ride safe.

Sorry to hear about your spill and really hate that your wife got hurt.
I had a similar experience Sunday at a gas station as I came to a stop at the pump. I don't know what it was, but I thought it was water. Thankfully I was able to stiffarm the pump and get my heal to hook on the island curb to keep from going over. You just never know.
Check the VTXOA classified if you havn't already. There is usually turn signals posted on there from people doing mods.

Sorry about the broken leg.
In Houston it seems like there is a lot of oily substances at intersections this summer. I get it on the soles of my shoes frequently. It seems like I'm having to pay more attention to that than in Summer's past.
Be careful.

We hope Pat is okay,
Oil on the road is a common, You will notice it quicker now that it bit you.
I was on my way to work this morning @ 4 a.m. when all of a sudden a large garbage bag full of something appeared in my light beam, missed it by inches. Sure did wake me up.
Remember to tell Pat, the secret to a fast healing is
PAIN PILLS!

Its the rear blinker, not the shock. C model blinker is different. We already tried my stocker. But hell, at least your thinking, not just another pretty face.
