Kim and I are going over this morning. I have not been sinse they had the first one many moons ago. We were going to go listen to Cross Canadian Ragweed, but they don't start until 10:00 pm. Too late for this old man. Besides, I have a cd and have seen them at the Rice Festival. We're going to check out the airboat ride if it's not too expensive and eat some gator. Hope to be back home before the heat index hits 100. May be too late already. :banghead:

I was back home by 11:30. It was already hot as hell when we got there. The airboat ride was a rip off in my opinion. $12 per person and it barely lasted 10 minutes. They are making some good money at about $150 per run, with two boats running. My guess is about $300 every 30 minutes as long as people keep climbing aboard.
There was not much in the way of arts and craft booths. Maybe one or two that had real crafts and the rest were stuff you would get out of a bubble gum machine.
The lemonade and fried gator were good but that was about it. I won't be going back.
It may be better at night if you like drunk and rowdy but there was plenty of law around so I doubt it's going to get too rowdy.

Yep my first and last time to go to this event, rip oooofffff everything had to have a token to get what you wanted, 5 dollar tokens for a beer  :cuss: Needless to say I left and 45 minutes after arriving.

Larry I found no Valero at the intersection of 563 and I10 -- Not quite sure why but we keep missing each other out there. Hot as a pepper sprout out there, I'm done until it cools off ( No Mas )

This may be a fun event for cooking teams, they had some pretty nice cooking rigs out there but as for as entertainment for adults it was a bust and expensive. It was better 20 years ago when I was chasing three kids around.

I did see a little miniature donkey and horse in the kiddy park. I hung around there waiting for Gumbo, but never did see him.  :idontknow: :stickpoke:

If I only knew abut the donkey, might have been worth the trip. ;D
