Lost my Boxer Gunny today. He died here at home with me at his side. He was a good friend and family member. He had been sick for a few days now and the vet kept telling us (after about $300 and three trips) he would get better. In my heart I knew better. I could see it in his eyes. He was almost nine years old. My family and I will miss him.

Sorry to hear the news, I have lost several over the years and it never is easy.
My Boxer had cancer and I was ready for him to go, he was a great and loyal friend, but all of my dogs were.

She is black with 4 white paws and a white tip on her tail. We call her Tippie. She is great with other dogs and kids. You may not be ready yet, but if your looking she is a great dog. She has all her shots and is due to be fixed. David

Wayne and I have lost 4 of our best friends over the course of a few years.  Each one has hurt tremendously so we understand the pain you are experiencing right now.  We are so sorry for your loss.

The pic of Gunny with the swim float is precious.  Keep those fun memories in your mind to help ease the pain in the heart.

Sorry to hear of your loss.  I'm glad you were there with him at the end.
Although they are just "dogs" or "pets" to some, there are those of us that find them as something very close to our hearts. As such.......when they hurt, we hurt with them.  The greatest act of love........... is to let them go when we can no longer comfort them in sickness.  Until you meet him again, rest assured he is in great company and having a wonderful time, because after all................"Dog" is "God" spelled backwards. 
He'll be waiting for you when you get there.    

Until you meet him again, remember he's at the bridge waiting for you.  I have seven waiting for me and I can't wait to get there!

Thanks for the well wishes everybody. It is very comforting to know you can count on your riding buddies to grieve with you and take part of the load in a time such as this. I am so glad my Boy is not suffering anymore.


If I thought it would do any good i would go dot that vet's eye for all the bad information he doled out.
