Need Marital advice

Ok guys, I need some advice. It is the classical beg for forgiveness vs. ask for permission. On September 18th it is my anniversary. Weather permitting, my wife and I are taking a weekend trip on the X and going to the Hill Country. We will be touring the different wineries of the Hill Country. My question is the following. Should I get this Motorcycle trunk
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motorcycle-tour-trunk-backrest-top-rack-harley-honda-hd-/310244706035?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item483c0686f3#ht_5082wt_939
without telling her? I do have saddle bags, but that will be barely enough for our change of clothes. If we decide to buy stuff, there will be no place to put it in. I have thought of buying a luggage rack and a biker luggage, but the trunk is such a good deal to pass on, also buying the luggage rack and the biker luggage will be more than this. In my end, this makes sense and it gets me one step closer in to having a full bagger. The thing is should I or should I not tell the wife? My main fear will be that I would be talking like The Vienna Boys Choir for a few days ;-)

In my opinion, I would discuss it first. Use the same arguement for for buying it that you used in your post. I would think she would be agreeable because you would both benefit.

My wife did not see the need for two bikes when I purchased the Wing. I had already researched and found one online. I did discuss it a few times but she never really committed. So, I bought a
air ticket, flew to Phoenix and rode it home.
Now she smiles every time we go for a ride or on a trip. She will never get back on the X for a long haul, like to Co. or NM. The Wing is now her baby.
So, in response...bring it up, discuss the benefits...give the features that are going to benefit her (comfort, nice back rest and all the room she will have to store just her stuff...heck, that should sell the trunk!
Or do as xcaliber said, "Man-up and just order it"!

Don't tell her. See how long it takes for her to notice. When she does tell her she passed the test!

Just get it. That is a very justifiable purchase. I have one and my wife absolutely loves it.

Of course I did not mention that we have an agreement for things we WANT...if it costs $100 or less we do not have to discuss. So just get the TRUNK!

Thanks for the advice guys. I think the purchase may have to wait. Last night we had one of those fights that sent me sleeping in the living room. I think I will get it with out telling her, but I'll purchase mid next week after I wine and dine her over the weekend to get her on her good side.
