Whatever is going to make you want to drink it, honestly. The new G2 Gatorade isn't bad, they've cut back on the calories, so it's not quite as "thick" as the old stuff.

I've been in a dehydrated situation about 10 years ago and since then, I've never had that problem again.  I was hotter than hell yesterday but not once did i feel dehydrated.  I always carry some cold water in a koozie and everytime I stop i take a good drink and usually when i stop for gas I'll refill on drinks before I run out of what i brought or have.  Oh and for headaches, before the headache i just pop an aleve.  Always helps with those hot summer days.

Anyone heard from DavidJ?  He got in the turning lane at one point on 290 to turn around I believe, but he waved us on.  Just making sure that he's ok.

And for the drink on the road...you can get you one of those insulated 32 oz. cup holders with the straw, put ice in the cup along with your fav. drink; and, use it while you ride.

I used this exclusively while on my ride this summer, it saved me numerous times, and carried extra fluid in the bags or wherever it would fit.

If you're driving a Honda Civic, that is....  :stickpoke:

Made it home fine.  I needed to turn around because I left my CC with the clerk at the last fill up.  For some reason the pump would not except my credit card.

I did stop in Brenham and cooled off for about 30 minutes while I drank down a quart of PowerAid.

Glad to hear it, DavidJ.

You guys from Houston seem to have a problem with leaving/losing stuff at gas stations....  :stickpoke:

CenTex wouldn't know about that because nobody leaves the house.

Close, but there are a couple of us left. And the guy that couldn't walk two months ago made it. Can't speak for the rest of the group, however....  ;)

OK!  I'm ready.  So when is the next one?  Maybe something close so's I can be home by around 2:00, before it heats up too much.

It's getting too dry to burn cedar and too hot to garden which is all I have been doing for the past two years.  Glad I still have the Wang.  I'm getting the itch to ride again.  Went out on a short 50 mile jaunt today.  Boy, was I cold on riding.  It felt like I was trying to push a wheel barrow. :(

Glad to see Tom is up and about.

Surely he was not on a bike, right?

Nah, no bike for Tommy. And he says that status is probably permanent.
