What the Freak?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Someone backed into my bike

While at work  one of our clients was backing up and I had my head down to the desk and all of a sudden a here a grinding sound and look up with much dismay and already knowing what happened.  He backed up his huge azz truck into my bike.  observe the damage. Bent the fender out of center and put a huge dent in it, put a dent in the chrome fork tube cover, and broke the column lock.  Hopefully I can get it fixed before the ROT, but if not, i'm riding it like that.  It's at Wild West Honda and they are inspecting it to make sure nothing is out of line.  making sure it is rideable. Damnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

The good news is that he didn't drive off and leave you with the fix it bill.  And I assume that since he is a client then he has his car insurance with you...and being in the biz you can get this taken care of quickly and efficiently.  Glad you weren't on the bike and it was moving when it got it's dings.

yeah, I can get it fixed fairly decent.  The father of the Kid offered to pay out of pocket but we'll see what he says once I get the bill for the parts and labor from Honda.  Yeah, I told Ruthy, and she said she was sick to her stomach when she heard and said the same thing.  She was glad that i wasn't on it or riding it when it happened, but damnit :cuss:

Sorry to hear, but I remember when that happened to Tapper and he came away with a really cool custom paint job.

Hope it works out with a minimum of down time.

yeah, the time is what i'm more concerned about.  Need a ride so i can get to ROT, and i'll be damned if i cage it, but i only have non-refundable tickets and hotel lodging.  To bad i don't have my bobber up and running, I'd take that bastard. oh well.

And will it be up and running in 2 weeks, hope so...  Really sucks that he wasn't paying attention, probably is not one that looks out or hears bikes on the roads.  As others have said, just glad you were not riding when damage occured.

Yeah, well, its probably about 2 days worth of work from what the guy told me at the shop, but it will take about 1 week to get the parts, plus i have the pleasure of taking of the fairing off b/c they need to remove the lower triple clamp b/c it cracked where the column lock goes mounted to.  So, it'll be pushing close to the 2 week mark and i still need to get my fairing back on, but trust me if it's going to take longer, I'll just ride it beat up and worry about replace the parts after i get back.
