homemade air breather mod. Need Help
« on: May 19, 2010, 10:08:43 AM »

Some time back i found this guy that made this air breather for his X from a cone filter he purchased from an auto parts store.  looked really good and was very functional.  I can't seem to find it now and was wondering if any of you guys had seen it or know of it.  here is a picture of the cone i'm talking about.

updated:  the mode I remember seeing had the breather facing forward like the tornado air kit.

I can't find the link, but there was one with a chrome 90 from Autozone. It was like the one in the link Gumbo posted. It was just turned with the 90.

Are you going to try and mount the AIT sensor, or are you going with a jumper? :hmm:

I did read about that, but I'm going to try and keep it as stock as possible as far as mounting goes.  I'm gonna try to make something a little more rigid and to shape.

Let me know what you figure out, I'd like an aftermarket filter but don't want to be several hundred dollars in one

If Gumbo can't weld it, I am sure you will cook it in something.  My taste a little like grime and bugs though.

Hey matap, I ran across this and decided to post the link. It is a different setup but it may have some useful info or at the least a few good keywords for a search.
