Sounds like a great trip only info I can add is watch the traffic in Branson been awhile since we have been there but it is bad on the main drag through town but were putting in some bypasses that should help.Gatlenburg in the Smokey mountains is a tourist trap to avoid lol. Also the Smokies are one of the most visited nation parks but a beautiful area.Cades Cove is really nice

Highway 7 in Arkansas is nice. Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas is really a good place to ride also. Around Heber Springs in Arkansas is good also.

You could jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway somewhere in North Carolina and figure out how far you want to ride it and then jump off an continue your ride.

Great scenery.

You need more time.

If you  are going to Piegone Forge, might as well go the the Dragon its about 45 miles south.  This is HWY 129, people come from all over the world to ride this rode, it won't disappoint your ST.  Have a safe trip

"The Dragon" is REALLY cool, however, the Cherahola Parkway is an even better ride! It (the Dragon - aka - 311 curves in 11 miles) should be open once you get there.

If you're in Jefferson at mealtime, treat yourself at:

That's where Marigold and I always eat. It's one block off of 59.

Hot Springs, AR

We toured the bath houses while in Hot Springs a few years ago.  Very interesting to see/read about those times.  We didn't stay very long to enjoy it all, but I understand there is still a hot spring or two that is open.

Tallulah Gorge State Park

If you can make a detour on your way out of the Smokies to Huntsville, I highly recommend this state park.  If you and Beth are up to it, you can hike down via stairs to get some spectacular views.  And if you're really feeling energetic, you can hike all the way down to the bottom and experience a natural water slide over a gigantic granite rock that's as smooth as a baby's butt.  Lori and I did this a few years ago and had a blast.  But the hike all the way down and back up the other side is very strenuous.  They warned us, but you really have no idea until you're actually doing it.  Even if you don't hike all the way down to the bottom, it's still a cool place to visit.

JIM...

Thanks. I plan to spend the night in Jefferson so I'll eat there.

JASON

Thanks. Beth's back won't let her take the shocks of a motorcycles bike seat. She's flying to Nashville to hang out with my brothers family...but other than that Marty is doing a solo.  Marty plans to more or less aimlessly coast around the southeast for 2-3 weeks.
I don't think I'll be hiking too much...Riding pretty roads, drinking beer with my feet propped up at night, listening to music....and occasional drunk or talkative strangers.   :c  Got a friend from back to Jr High who lives in Huntsville.  Got a music buddy in Newport News.  My father's 92nd birthday is this July in Birmingham. That is the primary reason to head East and not West. Original plan was Idaho, Oregon and California.

Whichever direction....Decompressing on a motorcycle is good work whenever I can get it.
