PIAA Driving lights
« on: April 26, 2010, 09:03:48 PM »

I have seen some of these that are made to install on the lower front forks of the 1300 anyone know someone that has done this. They are 35 watts each and though it would add more light up front.

I've seen it done, but on the lower forks they take a beating. I think mounting them above the springs would be better.

That is what I had in mind right below the headlight on each side. Will they be much of a draw on the electrical system?

Unless you run a lot of other electrical draw you'll be fine. Marigold and I both have Silver Bullets mounted like that for driving lights. We switched them to 20 watt modules because the 35s got too hot to touch after awhile. Make sure you run them through a relay. If you have any installation questions, feel free to call. I'll be on a stakeout this afternoon and evening, so I probably won't be answering the phone unless we get lucky.

Thanks for the  info and that was what I was wondering about is the heat may just do like what you did go with the 20 watts should still be extra lighting up front.
Go get em and be carefull

I don't care what other people think. They don't do it very often!
Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

I'd be shocked if anybody from here lives where we were. Appalled. Incredulous.

If you've got Lucky, I've got nothing to go home to.  :'(

Who's gonna clean my shorts, fetch the firewood and cook my meals? You?  :hurl:

If you really want to feel sorry for someone, pity poor Alfredo. We've been looking for him since July of 2008. Seems he was gonna turn himself in tomorrow............................................

After we caught him he told me he's been working at Chacho's. If I'd made one of the M&Gs there I would have had to make an arrest at the M&G, and that might've made our group unwelcome at Gabe's favorite spot.

With all due respect....screw Alfredo!
