HEAT RELIEF
« on: August 16, 2006, 07:45:25 AM »

I think it's on it's way.

I ride to work every morning, rain or shine, and today was a little different.

I hit a couple of spots where I wished I would have put on a long sleeve shirt.

Maybe some relief is coming.

I noticed it yesterday on the way to work. I hit some downright COOL places on the way into work. BRRR! But then on the way home. DAMN! It must have been a dream, that cool air. B/c it was hot hot hot yesterday. Glad I got out early yesterday so I could go fast. B/c going 85 in the heat is MUCH better than going 10 in the heat!  ;D Can't wait til Friday when I go back to nights. It's MUCH nicer then!

Arrrgh... Supposed to be 105 here today...and tomorrow...and Friday. We may have a cool snap on Saturday and it only get to 100. Of course, it could be worse. We could be in Iraq where it's 120 in the shade and they don't get to ride motorcycles.

My heat tips? Techniche cooling vest and adiamo wicking t-shirt. Ride behind refrigerated trucks and catch the condensate...

What's really irritating is to see that cool front up north just a short ways that isn't going to get here and seeing those 60 an 70 degree temps behind it.

106 to 108 today and tomorrow...

I did ride into town to get my Ergo bars mounted.   First ride in three weeks (due to the heat).   Saturday morning;  first 600 mile service.

Should receive my Ultimate big boy seat Friday... yay

After riding home yesterday and seeing a temperature sign that said 108, I have changed my mind and am withdrawing my statement that maybe relief is coming.

Hey RaymondX have any free time on Sunday?? Plan on riding to Canton for a little bit and meeting up with some other X riders. Have lunch and hopefully check out the Iron Horse Rally there.  Meeting at 11:30 at the Dairy Palace at I-20 and Hwy19 on the SW side.   8)

My better half and I took the bicycles out for a little 15 mile ride at 4pm today. 100 degrees plus... I was fine, but had to leave the wife in the shade and ride home to get the rescue truck. 12 years my junior, and she just can't hang! Kids these days...  ::)
