More Snow
« on: March 20, 2010, 11:01:34 AM »

I got out to take Megan to work. The roads have 2' of ice on top. People are stuck all over town, and a few wrecks, some bad ones. The drifts are not large yet but they are building.
Last week end feels like it happened years ago.

Thanks Tom. Your post makes me feel better about my day here at Cedar Creek Lake. It's 37 degrees and I have to go pick up the VTX and ride it home in the rain in about 30 minutes. I'm just glad I only have to ride it about 18 miles and I'm also thankful I'm not in Amarillo! This is gonna be fun!  :ohwow:

I haven't rode my bike yet this year. We have had some beautiful days for riding but I let the kids ride their bike. I'm good with that for now. I am ready for some warm weather. This time of year I never ride far from home. I can, and have, rode in the snow but I never learned to enjoy it.

I've rode in colder weather than today. It really wasn't that bad. Not enough cold or rain/sleet/snow to make a difference in road conditions. Just cold. No big deal. Just ain't my idea of Spring in Texas. Sure am looking forward to better weather. Hope it gets better for 'ya in Amarillo.

Why don't you ride down here for a couple of days when you can. We'll have some fun.

The weatherman said we got 5" of snow. The sky cleared up and its melting fast. Monday its going to be 70. I hope spring has sprung. I'm ready for another trip south, and we just got home.

I am in Celina and there looks to be about 3 inches of snow on the ground here, I'm sure I'll be leaving late for home, can't pass up a chance to build a snow man with the grandkids.  :c

Isn't it about time someone goes "varmint" huntin' to Punxsutawney, PA?  >:D

Of these 114 predictions on record so far, Punxsutawney Phil has predicted an early spring 14 times (12%). As to his accuracy, according to the StormFax Weather Almanac and records kept since 1887, Phil's predictions have been correct just 39% of the time.[7]

Add 2-3 more inches to our total. This could be the last of it this season. I hope.
