Dallas area parts stores??
« on: March 20, 2010, 12:55:25 AM »

So what are some good stores in the Dallas area for parts and accessories? I buy pretty much everything for my X online and it would be nice to see stuff in person for a change before I buy.
I am currently looking for baffle wrap/packing material and somewhere that may carry the Kisan signal minder.
I have been to Moto Liberty in Dallas and Cycle Gear in Plano in the past. Thats it though.

Action Power Sports in Ennis I have heard of. Only other one I know of and they might have some is Al Lambs Honda but I bet they are not giving parts away! Good luck my friend!

I know I can usually find a cheaper price online but it is sometimes better to support a local business (especially the small ones). Al Lambs doesnt carry very much at all but it is fun to go there and test drive the bikes!
I just found bates discount cycle in Dallas. Anyone know anything good or bad about them?

A friend and fellow VTX rider says Bates is a great place to buy parts and accessories. I'm planning to make a run up there soon....

There's a place in Mansfield called Dave's, (or something like that). It's on the old Mansfield Highway close to Turner Warnel road. Dave keeps some parts and accessories for the VTX and Goldwings. He rides a VTX.

Contact Glenn there. He is the best. Even worked with me today to get a sweet deal on some parts including shipping. I email him directly now for parts that aren't normally in stock. He has blown away everyone I've ordered from period. Also he has my parts shipped super fast.

Made it to Bates in Dallas today. Nice place-Nice people. They carry quite a bit of stuff and have pretty good prices. Picked up some baffle wrap. It was nice being able to see a bunch of the items I have been looking at online. I know a few things I wont be buying now that I have seen it in person!

I used to buy parts for my 1971 Yamaha Enduro at Bates in 1971. Yeah,  I'm old as dirt and so is Bates. Used to have alot of fun rummaging through parts bins there as a kid...
