QUESTION FOR YOU LEO'S
« on: February 10, 2010, 08:07:10 AM »

Is it illegal in the State of Texas to ride a motorcycle with a cast ( from knee down ) on? Not that it matters legally but the cast is on the right side.

Thanks,
Steve

I know of no statute that specifically addresses a cast. I'd have to say that if you can operate the brake normally, you should be legal. I'd be prepared to be stopped and checked a few times. Good luck!

Steve,
I broke my right ankle in two places a couple years ago...I had a cast on for 6 weeks...rode my bike to/from work almost every day with it.  Passed a few LEO's during those rides and never got pulled over...so I can't speak from the legal standpoint, just from the user standpoint.

And she was pissed when I rode with a cast on my hand.   :ohwow: Well, Hell, it looked like a glove. Get a black cast if you must.  :bikerider:

Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

Well that's really great news. I did the same thing, broke my right ankle in 2 places at one of my daughters softball tournaments. I still can't put much weight on it right now but in a week or so I should be able to ride comfortably. I took the bike around the neighborhood Saturday just to see if I could apply the foot brake, no issues.

Thanks Hipshot for replying also.

So, all or our questions shall by answered by:

Jim, Jim
or
LEO, Leo
or
Louie, Louie ?
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

After a little Louie, Louie and Everclear I forgot what the question was.

Just as long as it's not by Tom, Tom. I'm getting tired of listening to that guy, and he's always getting me lost!

Steve, sorry to hear about your ankle!  :ohwow:  But more importantly, you're supposed to just watch her games, not play in them!  ;D

Well I'm one of the coaches so participation is required on my part. Kind of a fluke accident anyway. We were warming the girls up before their next game. One of the girls threw the ball high and when I jumped to catch it I came down in a hole. We were outside of the field in a grassy area that everyone uses for warm-ups. The borjken ankle / Cast isn't that big of a deal. The CRUTCHES however are a pain in the Cranberries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All this time I thought crutches went under the ARM!!  :ohwow:

I helped coach my daughter's high school summer league teams.  Tore a hamstring and broke my collar bone. Also figured out what a dirty old man I was.

Aaahhh - the memories!!  :redcard:  I gotta throw that on myself.
