Loose connector - what's it for?
« on: September 18, 2009, 09:56:40 AM »

Just removed my seat to hook up a battery charger harness and noticed this loose connector and couldn't find any place it should go. It has 2 small wires one green with silver marks and the other is brown with silver marks. The wires and connector are shown in the photo (attached) hanging over the frame and are about 3-4 inches long.

Any one know what this is for?

Does the bike turn on, signal lights work, fuel pump running, headlight on, bike goes forward when you ease off the clutch while in gear?  I would say leave it alone.   :stickpoke: :t

Not sure, but that could be the diagnostic connection. I'm at work so I don't have my manual to verify.

Yep, ECU service check connector. Anyone interested should look at http://bareasschoppers.com/ECUcodes/

Thanks for the replies.
