Need clutch instructions
« on: August 27, 2009, 02:26:45 PM »

After only 62,000 miles my clutch on my 2002X-C is starting to slip.  Can't really Buck Rogers much-she's taken me everywhere I've asked.
Looking for instructions on how to install new one.  Dealer price for parts alone was astronomical-I was afraid to ask about labor.

Just now slipping at 62k?  I think you're a first in the history of the X to make it that long.  I made it to 25k which was a few years ago.

Bare's site should help with just about everything you need.  http://www.bareasschoppers.com/  More specifically, this section - http://www.bareasschoppers.com/clutch/

A lot of us on here have done them once or twice so if you have any specific questions after looking at his site, feel free to ask.

I installed a Barnett clutch a few weeks ago using Bare's instructions. No problems.

Just curious, but if I were to go to an MTC clutch from factory would I have to have my bike retuned?
