Radiator Leaking....
«

The night of the Meet & Greet I saw a few drops of coolant below the radiator and thought it was probably a loose hose clamp, so I tightened all that I could get to before I left.
The morning after I went to ride to work... looked down in front of the bike and sure enough another puddle of coolant.
It's comming from the bottom neck of the radiator, I can order one $157.00 from HDL or close to $200.00 at the Stealer.
Anyone got one out there for a 2002 1800 "C" in pretty good condition that they want to get rid of?
I probably won't order one until late this afternoon, I'm in the process of tearing it down, and hoping that it might be a simple fix if possible.

Update...
Could not find any leak in the radiator after pressure test, replacing the lower hose and clamps.
We shall see it that was it.

Is the hose dry rotted or is it actually coming out of the metal bend at the bottom?

j1mmyj4m,
Putting it back together now, I think the hose was rotten, it looked to be original stuff.
Dealer did not have one but NAPA did, could not believe the price the dealer wanted for hose clamps... $11.00 each, the hose listed at $9.00
Wow $22.00 for two hose clamps,... NAPA had those also.
Thanks for the response.

Still Dripping after replacement of the Hose and Clamps
With out being able to fully pressure test the Radiator from Inlet to Outlet it really sucks, lots of stone dents in it though guess it's time to replace it.
Just glad it did not leave me stranded somewhere out in the middle of BFE.
I ordered a new Radiator it will hopefully be here in the next week or so from HDL.
Well good time to do some other maintence issues, Valve Adj., Oil change, and a good clean up.
Thanks to all that responded.

Are you sure it's not the waterpump? They will leak and show up right in that same area.

I was thinking the same thing Hooter! Even if it is the radiator you can take it to a repair shop and most of the time do a pressure test for free! Good luck!

I decided to save a few bucks and replaced my shot one last Fall....what a freaking pain!!!!! If you can get a good look underneath it, see if you can spot green "stalactites" just to the right of the kickstand anchor point, if you do, the pumps gotta go!!!

To all,
I had it way up high on my bike jack with the cover off for the Waterpump Area.
I could not see any leakage in that area.
I plan to re-lube the Shifting Linkage Points at this time.
The leak is just inside the radiator area on the bottom of the tank/hose outlet, I think that maybe my Aftermarket Chrome Grill may have gotten into the neck area (Possibly) there is not a lot of clearance at the opening for the grill guard that I have but you can be best assured there will be when I get done.
It is very very small leak, the drip area left overnight is about the size of a quarter right directly under the radiator neck.
I think that I will be doing the right thing by replacing it, there is nothing worse that having a problem out on the road somewhere and having to be at the mercy of a Stealer or being towed home.
Thanks again to all that have posted a response.
Kind Regards
