GPS Mount
« on: June 24, 2009, 06:57:20 PM »

Daughter bought me a Garmin 205W for Fathers Day, having trouble locating a mount for the scoot(1300R). Need some help locating a good web page or what you are using for a mount. Some are kind of a vague of the description what fits what.

This should get you done:

http://www.ram-mount.com/Products/MotorcycleMounts/tabid/128/Default.aspx

or this:  http://www.techmounts.com/

or Garmin's website...

Check out this thread:  http://www.texasxriders.com/index.php?topic=10551.0

Find out what you need and then check Ebay and Amazon to see if you can get it cheaper...

Also for power try:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001A4HAQ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1203940981&sr=8-1

Ram Mounts are the best.  You'll need a Power Outlet as well.

Stormy,

There's a guy just up the road from you in South Austin that is a major distributor for RAM mount products.  His web site is:  www.mountinginnovations.com
His name is Barry Jucha.  He rides a GL1800 Goldwing and is a close friend of mine.  Actually, he has ridden with the Xriders at BBT and knows several of us from the Houston area (which is where I am now located).  He had a vendor booth at ROT this year, and used the occasion to install GPS mounts for all kinds of GPS's on all kinds of bikes, including VTX's.  He really knows his product line and will be able to fit you up with the best option.  If you call him at 512-699-8611, he would probably be willing to meet up with you at a mutually convenient time and place. That will not only save you the cost of shipping but will enable you to examine and test out the mount first-hand before buying it.

Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

I think most of the Nuvi's come with their standard bracket, which will work with this nice mount:
