My father's day was a good one...got to fly to San Diego and spend it with my youngest son, Jared, who is active duty Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton at Oceanside.  Got to participate in "Jayne Wayne Day"...a day when we got to be Marines for a Day...got to fire 155MM Howitzers, see the rounds impacting down range, observe the firing of the infamous Ma Duece (50 cal. machine gun), 240 machine gun, observed a Marine Corps fire team "take out" some terrorists and got to crawl all over some up-armored Humvees, the MRAP vehicle and the new MARS (a rocket pod vehicle that can hit a target 700 miles away).  Glad I'm a friend of the USMC...as the saying goes "there is no better friend nor any worse enemy than a Marine"!  The really neat thing is that all of the young men I met are the finest young men our nation has to offer...young men that took it upon themselves to volunteer to keep our nation strong and free, Semper Fi!
