You can always ride to Jefferson which is a real nice town to ride to and very biker friendly!

FM 49 (Hainesville Hwy.) from Mineola to Gilmer, west on SH 154 to FM 1795, south and west on 1795 through Latch and Shady Grove to Hawkins. Very scenic and nice sweepers (not quite twisty). It's good for a couple of hours.

Also, FM 16 from US 271 south of Gladewater west through Winona and Lindale to Garden Valley and then FM 1253 up to US 80 is a nice ride.

We had a great ride up to Jefferson from Tyler on 155. Through Big Sandy then to Gilmer. For a different view we got off of 155 at 2795 which was very nice "off the beaten path". Follow this road to 557 and connect to 259 north towards Lone Star. Before reaching Lone Star take a right onto 729 for a Lake O the Pines run. Really cool ride to Kellyville. Take right onto 49 then to Jefferson and Auntie Skinners for bite to eat and a well deserved buttbreak. Cruise around town and see the sites or take a leasurley walk to check out the stores. Be safe.

My wife and I ride to Jefferson when we just need a quick getaway. As written earlier we take the N shore of lake o' the pines on 729. Usually spend the night at the Jefferson Hotel across from Auntie Skinners. Great bar and a nice little getaway. "and if i drink to much i don't have to try and ride".

315 south from Lake Palestine to Palestine. Lots of twisties, sweepers and panoramic views. Great ride.

This is going to sound complicated, but it's not.

Just to kill some time, I will ride from Tyler south to Whitehouse on Bascom Rd (848) (twisties and sweepers).  Right on FM 346.  Left on HWY 110.  Then take 110 south to Mixon rd (CR 3052).  Right on 177 which will take you to HWY 69 in MT Selman.  Then you would zig zag across 69 to FM 855.  855 Will bring you to Lake Palestine.  The decisions are limitless.  But, here is my route.

Right on FM 346.  All the way back to Whitehouse and back down Bascom rd to Tyler.

Or

Right on FM 346.  Left on FM 344.  Cross 155 South, turns into 2661.  (my church is just 1/4 mile North of this intersection on the left.  Lakewood Church come see me on Sunday)  2661 takes you to HWY 31 just outside of Chandler.  Right on 31 back to Tyler.

Or

Take 2661 to HWY 64.  Right on 64 back to Tyler.

Or

Take 2661 to Lake Placid rd.  Right on Lake Placid back to 155 S.  Left on 155 to Tyler.

Opportunities abound.
