I read somewhere that it only gives you an extra 10 hp. for like 3-4 g's.

This kit is not a big bore kit, but will increase HP. How much I can't say, but my guess would be 25-30 HP. Not a bad jump for the price.
And, the

folks don't have a very good reputation, and as far as I know, have never actually made a big bore kit for a 1300.
