Remembering World War II...

On 17/18 August 1942, Marine raiders attacked Makin Island and left behind 19 dead Marines.    The islanders were asked to make sure that they received a proper burial. 
In 1999 the remains of the fallen Marines were discovered. :flag:

Thanks to those HEROS and many like them, we are able to ride anywhere we want at any time we want. Thank a vet today and everyday. :flag:

Thanks for the post. I am truly touched by the honor displayed by the Marine Corp in taking care of their fallen Heroes. My oldest son is a Marine and I am quite proud of him for his service to our country.

 :thumbup: To all who served! My dad was a marine in WWII. I am very proud of him as a dad and a marine. Everyone needs a dad like him.  :flag:
