On the lower front forks on the 1300 can you take wet dry sand paper and remove the clear coat so its easier to shine. It seems I read somewhere on one of the threads about doing this.

Yep, you can do the whole forks that way. Looks nice and easy to maintain once you get there.
Start with 200, 400, 800, 1600 then 2000 grit wet paper. You will barely need to polish when you are done.

If you leave the forks on it will take about 2-3 hours depending on if your fingers hold out. I left mine on but you can see where you miss if you look too long. Most just see what you did do and it will look great.

I have most of the clear coat off but still see a few darker sopts so going to work on those a bit more and guess after that you begin with each grit till you get to 2000.If the distractions around her would leave might get finished lol but I did not say that.

Well, you could have just won the door prize at BBT and would not have to work on them at all!

The lower forks now match the uppers and look so much better and worth the effort.I do see a couple places on the back side that need a bit more woork and will finish that up sometime this week. When finished need to give the bike a good cleaning.
