Finally... a ride
« on: July 24, 2006, 12:09:42 PM »

Added a whopping 138 miles to my new bike today for a total of 186.

I know, this is boring compared to most of the members. But I'm still an 1800 noob.   ???

Oh... and the Memphis Slims works great! O0

Take your time!  Plenty of time to put on the miles.  Next thing you will know, you'll be riding your bike to work everyday!  (Or at least on Fridays)

I suppose I'm anxious to reach the magic 600 mile mark so that I can have that first service done.  Why?  I have a couple of long rides planned in August and won't attempt them till this is complete, and I'm use to the motorcycle.

Hehehe...I've had my bike since February, and last Saturday I was finally comfortable enough to ride solo from Dallas to Waco and back.  What really helped me is riding everyday to work when I could (now, I rarely drive my car anymore) and what really boosted my comfort level was participating in a poker run a few weeks ago.   :)

If you are still nervous, you should take the MSF course.

After I took that course, most of the nerves were gone.  There were only 3 guys in my class.  The other 15 or so, were women.  Most of them knew each other, and we had a great time.

Come on folks - don't be so insensitive.  What we have here is a rider brave enough to admit their problem with "PREMATURE SEAT EJECTION"   This is a common rump breaking problem.

One can stop any any c-store and hear the usual statements of "It's never happened before but I just had to get off."  Its all so messy and embarrassing.

How about the big CLAP for the person bringing this serious problem to our attention! O0 O0
