What highway pegs?
« on: July 23, 2006, 06:36:04 PM »

I want to stretch out on my bike sometimes but I'm not sure what will fit.  I have an '03 VTX1800 Retro Spoke with a Cobra Fatty (1 1/2") engine guard.  I'm 5' 12" tall and have a Corbin seat; no problem when I come to a stop and put my feet down.  If I mount something on the guard, what are some good choices?  I see Kuryakin has a clamp for 1 1/2" size.  Aeromach has some pegs I can attach to the floor boards and it looks like they would clear the Fatty bar.  Kuryakin has an adapter that mounts to the floor board and accepts an adapter and then pegs.  What have other members on the boards done with a setup like mine?

I do not have floor boards but do have the engine guard. I went with the Kury duos and the ones I got had an extender that stuck out from the clamp that you can move it in all directions around. that way you can get a better fit. I will look it up and post the link.

Thanks, those look good.  Did you bolt onto the frame and if so, what size?  My Cobra Fatty is 1.5" so is there a way to adapt those with a different clamp?

Not trying to be a bonehead here but isn't 5' 12" = 6'???

IMO if ya got the Engine Guard might aswell put some use to them - on my brothers retro it gave me a real nice relaxed streched foot rest and i am 6' but i am not sure for the shorter 5'12" peeps out there  :D
