Shifting gears w/out pressing the clutch in
« on: November 18, 2008, 05:43:35 PM »

Anyone ever experience an upshift without pressing the clutch lever in?  I have a 1800n with heel/toe shifter, and this morning, i was riding out of my neighborhood and were I usually shift into second down the street, i was fiddling with my glove and as second nature has it, i dropped my foot on to the heel part of the lever and there i go straight into 2nd without jerking around.  This is the second time it's happened accidentaly.  Just wondering if anyone else has done this before.  :D

I didn't always use the clutch when shifting while riding motocross and never had any problems...  pretty sure it's not good, but I don't know the technicals of it...

Thanks murray for the correction. mistake has been corrected.  yeah, I'm not sure if its a good thing either, i use to help my father drive semi trucks and would only typically press the clutch in on first gear, after that i would just let the rpm's get up high enough and drop into the next gear.

ya i have done that a few times since i have had my bike it is just like power shifting a truck it shouldn't really hurt it if you don't hear a gear engage then you shouldn't be messing anything up
